This question is aimed at all you twitter compers... *cough* Tink *cough*.
When companies as you to Retweet a message which is the best practice? Click the retweet button or copy and paste it with RT?
I've seen both done but also heard problems with both and was wondering if either would effect the chances of winning?
Cheers
Phil

I'd say unless they state only 1 entry, do both. You can only click the retweet button once anyway and have to alter C&P'd messages as it doesn't let you post the exact same thing again.
Some of my wins have been from the retweet button and others are C&P'd. Guess it just depends on the company. Eg. I think Octopus_Books only take RT button tweets.

Copy and paste every time for me. Unless the company know what they're doing properly on Twitter (very rare lol) they can only see the last 15 people who RT'd by using the button. There's an interesting blog article about it here: Competition Grape Vine: Top Twitter Tips
I've won off loads of different companies on Twitter and I always C&P.

Cheers for the replies guys.
Hmmm, hitting RT does seem the easier option but was worried about it not registering properly. Esp after the H&M comp, I'm 99% sure I was first 100 (if not first 25!) but nothing came of it.
I'l have to see what happens!

I think with big companies you're safer using C&P - as Tink says they can only show last 15 to enter and within a few seconds there could be 100+ entries so they can't see the early ones. Hasn't been a problem with ones I've run - always written them down after regularly refreshing.
Apparently H&M used Twitter Search Couldn't find my tweets in it.
Oh and I will just point out for anyone else - if your account is protected (private) no one will see your tweets unless they are following you so you could enter hundreds of comps but unless those companies follow you they'll go unseen.
