radio station now says that i haven't won :(

I entered a radio station competition online, and my name was showing on their website as a winner. I emailed the radio station, and asked them to confirm that I was the winner. They contacted me via email, and confirmed that I was the winner, and confirmed which prize I had won. They also stated that they had passed my details on to their prize department, as they would be the ones sending me my prize.
I was contacted 2 weeks later by email from the radio station, and they said that they had made a mistake, and i was not the prize winner.
Are they legally entitled to not give me the prize, even though they originally said that i was the winner?

Hi Neil,

There may be something in their Ts&Cs that states their decision is final. Do you still have the emails saying you won and does the website/cached page still show you as the winner? Take a screen shot if it does.

I'd maybe email them again asking them to double check and depending on what they say, contact The Institute of Promotional Marketing Home and ask their advice.
